She's usually spotted out in dark colours, but surprisingly Katie Holmes opted for an outfit of cream and pink as she visited a chocolate shop on Thursday.
The light coloured jumper and coat might have been a risky choice as the actress spent the day dipping strawberries in melted chocolate and sampling some treats at Godiva in New York.
Luckily for her there weren't any mishaps and her pink jeans and jumper escaped unharmed, although the star clearly hadn't thought ahead.

Proving that she's got something of a sweet tooth, the 34-year-old stopped by the chocolate shop to help launch the new Godiva chocolate photo booth and got stuck in.

 

Dipping pieces of fruit into a large vat of melted chocolate, Katie seemed unworried about her chic cream jumper, which was in the firing line.
The actress might have been taking style tips from her six-year-old daughter Suri, who is regularly spotted out in light pink.

The sugary pink jeans and cream top could have come straight out of the stylish youngster's extensive wardrobe.
Katie had a wide smile on her face as she rushed around in New York before heading to the chocolate launch.
While the actress has styled herself as a designer, even launching her own range, it is perhaps her daughter who has had the biggest impact on her style.

Whether stepping out in heels at three-years-old or refusing to wear a coat even on bitterly cold days, it's clear Suri knows her mind.
Last year the kindergarten pupil was voted 'world's most stylish child', an honour she took in her stride.
And Katie has previously admitted that Suri doesn't shy away from giving her honest fashion tips.
'She'll really tell me [what she thinks],' she said. 'Like today I'm wearing brown suede pants, and she said, "I don't like your pants."

'But then she'll say, "You've got to wear these shoes." Or "That's so pretty, Mom. Wear that."' 

"The other day we came out of a store, and she said, 'I want to go there,' pointing at another store quite a distance away," Holmes continued.
'In that store was the dress that she wanted. I said, "Wow, Suri. You're something. You picked that out from a football field away."' 
Sadly the fashiongame isn't always easy, and last week it was revealed that Katie won't get the chance to show off her latest clothing collection at Fashion Week in February.  
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the actress-turned-designer will be missing out on what would be an amazing promotion next month, although it is not clear why.
