So Milla Jovovich clearly wanted to make the most of her last holiday before the hard work begins, seeing in the New Year on the beach in Maui with her family.
Showing off her flawless figure in a skimpy white bikini, the film star let her hair down as she played in the sea with husband Paul W.S. Anderson and their daughter Ever.

Simply sensational: 37-year-old Milla looked incredible as she enjoyed the water in Maui

The 37-year-old star looked the epitome of glamour for her day at the beach on New Year's Eve, adding a long, grey dress over her bikini and a pair of large, tortoise-shell sunglasses.
Instead of going fresh-faced, Milla vamped up her beach look with a slash of bright pink lipstick and a pair of small gold earring, evoking old school Hollywood glamour.
But instead of reclining on a sun-lounger and taking in the rays, the Russian model played on the beach with her family, running up and down the white, Hawaiian sand.

Her director husband took a dip in the sea with the couple's young daughter and Milla ran up to join them, joking around as they sat in the surf, getting a friend to take a snap of the happy family.
The family-of-three had flown in from LAX just the day before and seemed determined to have as much fun as possible before having to get back to reality.
Milla, once deemed the 'reigning queen of kick-butt,' is becoming increasingly more focused on her music career.

'Getting a visit from @chrissbrenner to put down some keys and harmonies,' Jovovich tweeted to her 1 million followers on Saturday.

The Fifth Element actress has been working closely with Danny Lohner, the former bass player for Nine Inch Nails, and musician Chris Brenner, who co-wrote her Divine Comedy Album in 1994.
Milla has also worked with industrial musician Maynard James Keenan, of Tool and A Perfect Circle, on his Industrial side project Puscifer.

Her collaboration with Lohner and Brenner resulted in a single called Electric Sky last May, but her entire second album has yet to be released.
As far as her acting career, her next film is called The Winter Queen, which was originally set to shoot in June 2007, before leading lady Milla announced her pregnancy.
In the the action-crime-drama set in 1876, a young investigator with the Moscow police sets out to solve the apparent suicide of a university student, but soon lands in the middle of a far-reaching international conspiracy.
