Just what the doctor ordered! Private Practice star Kate Walsh, 45, shows off her gorgeous bikini body on the beach in Miami

Her hit medical drama Private Practice is about to come to an end after six seasons.
And Kate Walsh is making a successful transition to the big screen after starring in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and with a role in upcoming Scary Movie 5.
So the busy actress was well-deserving of a sunshine getaway.

She turned 45 earlier this year but Kate cut a very youthful figure as she hit South Beach on Tuesday after jetting to Miami.
Displaying her curves in a black bikini, Kate looked relaxed and happy as she splashed about in the ocean while taking a dip.
The star showed what a natural beauty she is as she went make-up free for her sunning session and Kate wasn’t afraid to get her hair wet during her swim.

After cooling off in the turquoise waters, the redhead made her way back onto dry land to get stuck into a sunbathing session.
Kate starred as Dr. Addison Montgomery on Grey’s Anatomy before landing her own spin-off show.
She revealed she would be leaving Private Practice in June after six seasons, and in October creator Shonda Rhimes announced that the sixth season, condensed to 13 episodes, would be the series’ last.

Appearing on Bethenny Frankel’s talk show, Kate said: ‘This is my last season for Private Practice.’
The admission was met with boos from the crowd, and Kate explained: ‘It's been an incredible journey and an amazing ride and I'm hugely, hugely grateful.
‘It's bittersweet. It's a huge chapter of my life. It's been eight years.’
However Kate has said she would be open to returning to Grey’s Anatomy, which she has made occasional guest appearances on since uprooting to Private Practice.

She told E! Online in September: ‘There's always that possibility. It's really up to Shonda [Rhimes]. I'm open to anything. I'm ready for my next chapter, but never close the door.’
In the meantime, Kate is focusing on getting some much-needed ‘rest’.
She said: ‘I'm going to travel and work hopefully on other stuff and spend time with my family and friends.’
